Local 2050 To Host 2nd Annual Oktoberfest Fundraiser

The Local 2050 Oktoberfest fundraiser is back! This years event will be held on Saturday October 19th from 2pm until 11pm at The Last Resort (Effins Pub), 325 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. We will have live bands, , food, beer. raffles and much more! Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased through the link below.

Local 2050 would like to announce the retirement of EMS Lieutenant Ed Quattrini effective August 20, 2019. Lieutenant Quattrini was a 22 year veteran of the Department. We wish you a happy and healthy retirement! Coffee is always on.

FF Steve Winsor Honored at RI State House

On May 24, 2019, FF Steve Winsor was recognized at the RI State House during the 2019 EMS Recognition Ceremony. FF Winsor, along with several other EMS Officers and Chiefs throughout the state, has made a push for a change in pediatric prehospital care in Rhode Island. FF Winsor has undergone lengthy training to promote and oversee pediatric protocol compliance, continuing education and participation in pediatric research efforts. As a Rhode Island Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (RI PECC), FF Winsor helps ensure that our EMS providers are prepared to care for every pediatric patient and emergency. Congrats brother on being recognized for your dedication and hard work. Local 2050 couldn't be more proud!

Local 2050 Honors DC Dave Chartier With Retirement Party

On March 22, 2019, the members of Local 2050 (past and present) honored Deputy Chief Dave Chartier with a retirement party at Twelve Acres. DC Chartier retired in July of 2018 after 34 years on the job to accept a position as Fire Chief in North Smithfield, RI. Thanks for all that you have done for Local 2050 and its members through out your career, Chief. Don't be a stranger and make sure you get us some work at your fires!

American Lung Association Fight For Air Climb

On Saturday March 23, 2019, members completed the American Lung Association Fight For Air Climb at the Providence Omni Hotel, raising over $770 for the Lung Association. Our members finished at or near the top of their respective age and gender groups again this year.

2019 Newport St. Patrick's Day Parade

Our members proudly marched in the annual Newport St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 16th. Local 2050 has been represented in this parade for over 15 years, a tradition that has no end in sight. Cheers fellas!

Members Attend Whitehead Legislative Conference in DC

On March 11-13 2019, Local 2050 members attended the Alfred K. Whitehead Legislative Conference in Washington, DC. During this visit, our Executive Board members had a private meeting with Congressman James Langevin (D-RI 2nd District) in his Capitol Hill office to discuss presumptive legislation for firefighter cancer. Cycle For Survival Fundraiser To Fund Cancer Research

Local 2050 members, along with their families and friends, continue to rally around brother Craig Garrett as he battles a rare DSRCT cancer. On March 10, 2019, our members cycled as a team in NYC to raise money for Craig's treatment team at Sloan Kittering Cancer Center. Cycle For Survival invests each dollar raised to fund research and trials of rare cancers at Sloan Kittering. Together, our Local 2050 team and brother Craig raised over $11,000 IN JUST ONE MONTH for Cycle For Survival and Sloan Kittering! Unbelievable work! Our members continue to do great things. #76

Deputy Chief Chartier Retires After 34 Years of Service

Local 2050 would like to announce the retirement of Deputy Chief Dave Chartier effective July 11, 2018. Deputy Chartier was a 34 year veteran of the Department and was an active member and officer of the Local. Deputy Chartier is continuing his fire service career down the street from us as he accepted a position as Fire Chief of the North Smithfield Fire and Rescue Service. We wish you the best of luck in your new position, Chief!

Gaspee Days 5k Road Race In Memory of Cranston FF Kevin Lang

On June 9th, our members, along with family and friends, ran the Gaspee Days 5k Roadrace in memory of Cranston FF Kevin Lang. T-Shirts were sold and all proceeds were donated directly to Brother Langs widow. Another job well done, Brothers and Sister!

Local 2050 Honors FF Gary Pinault With Retirement Party

The members of Local 2050, past and present, honored FF Gary Pinault with a retirement party on May 25, 2018 at Twelve Acres. Gary was the Senior Man of Engine 2 prior to retiring last May after serving the citizens of Smithfield for over 16 years. Many laughs were shared as we celebrated Garys career. We'll miss you brother and wish you nothing but good health and happiness in your retirement.

Members Complete 2018 American Lung Association Stairclimb

Local 2050 members CJ Tasca, Kelsey Brackett and Joe Notarantonio completed the American Lung Association's Fight For Air Climb on March 24, 2018 at the Omni Providence Hotel. All of the members finished towards the top of their respective age groups and also raised money for the Lung Association. Congrats brothers and sister, we're proud of you and thank you for representing the Local!
